Paul Campbell: Covering Two Feet at a Time
The December Edition of SWFL Business Magazine shines a spotlight on 13-year-old Paul Campbell, a young leader proving that compassion has no age limit.
While most kids his age are thinking about sports or video games, Paul is thinking about socks — thousands of them. Through his project Paul’s Footprint, he has collected and donated more than 8,000 pairs of socks and essential items to people experiencing homelessness in Southwest Florida.
How Paul’s Footprint began
Paul’s journey started at just six years old while on a family vacation. After noticing people on the streets holding signs asking for help, he asked if his family could give them money. When he learned they could not, he insisted they still find a way to help — especially with food and basic essentials.
That conversation became a promise.
That promise became a mission.
And that mission became Paul’s Footprint, a neighborhood sock drive that has now grown into a community-wide movement of kindness, dignity, and warmth.
A community joins the mission
Each fall, Paul launches his annual sock drive with a clear vision:
To cover two feet at a time.
Families, students, businesses, and organizations join him — donating socks, T-shirts, toiletries, and daily essentials. Collection bins fill up quickly as word spreads of his effort and his heart.
This year, donations support:
St. Matthew’s House
Hunger & Homeless Coalition of Collier County
Paul’s work directly helps local men, women, and children who need warmth, stability, and hope.
A boy with a big heart — and even bigger impact
Paul speaks about his mission with humility:
“Everyone deserves kindness.”
His quiet leadership has already inspired hundreds of donors and volunteers. Now in Year 7, Paul hopes 2025 will be his biggest year yet as he continues building a legacy rooted in compassion and action.
