Half-Page Options (Choose One)

Option A: Half Page (Horizontal) — Most Common

This is the standard half-page format most magazines use.

Option B: Half Page (Vertical)

This gives a tall layout for strong brand presence (if you prefer that style).

(If you’re unsure which one to use, default to Horizontal.)

These measurements are based on your Full-Page template rules:

• Bleed = 0.125” (1/8”) on each side

• Safety margin = 0.125” (1/8”) inside trim on each side

1) TRIM SIZE (Final cut size)

8.5” wide x 5.5” high

​

2) BLEED SIZE (Backgrounds/images must extend to this)

Add 0.125” to every edge:

• Width: 8.5 + 0.25 = 8.75”

• Height: 5.5 + 0.25 = 5.75”

✅ Bleed file size: 8.75” x 5.75”

3) SAFETY SIZE (Keep logos/text inside this)

Subtract 0.125” from every edge:

• Width: 8.5 − 0.25 = 8.25”

• Height: 5.5 − 0.25 = 5.25”

✅ Safe area: 8.25” x 5.25”

1) TRIM SIZE (Final cut size)

4.25” wide x 11” high

2) BLEED SIZE

• Width: 4.25 + 0.25 = 4.5”

• Height: 11 + 0.25 = 11.25”

✅ Bleed file size: 4.5” x 11.25”

3) SAFETY SIZE

• Width: 4.25 − 0.25 = 4.0”

• Height: 11 − 0.25 = 10.75”

✅ Safe area: 4.0” x 10.75”
